The tech giant has taken to forums to confirm the commencement of the Wear OS update roll out on the first wearable Suunto 7. As mentioned when it was announced last month, the new Wear OS update will include faster app startup time, with boot and app launch times apparently seeing up to 20 percent speed improvement. I was not able to hold a neighborhood meeting for Cafe Coda but the applicant attended two MNA Preservation and Development committee meetings including one last Tuesday where they addressed outstanding questions. I was able to attend and feel confident that upstairs tenants have engaged with the applicant and his architect about strategies for noise abatement. P will recommend to the MNA Board to support on Monday 12/20.
What allows the company to do that is the forward model that it has built over the years to integrate its entire supply chain. Luxottica operations cover product design and manufacturing, to the logistics, to both retail and wholesale distribution of frames and sunglasses. By owning retail stores like Sunglasses Hut and others, Luxottica can distribute their products through their network of over 7,300 stores, in more than 130 countries, and at a faster pace than competitors.Quantitative evidence of this economic moat can be seen both in how Luxottica’s total operating expenses have decreased from 51.93% in 2012 to 50.49% in 2016 (and to 47.45% in 1H17), as well as in the Company’s net margin growth, which has risen from 7.54% in 2012 to 9.36% in 2016 (and to 11.45% in 1H17).Now imagining the effect of Luxottica’s pricing power and cost advantages in a market where only 19% of the world’s population wear sunglasses, showing how much Luxottica can still grow, it’s not far fetched to expect such margins to just improve.
These workers seek to organize with [the union] for health, safety, and protection, Amazon investors are watching, New York City comptroller Scott Stringer said, according to the FT. Is power in their unity and power in labour, and they have my full support as they fight for a safe, fair workplace. Investor backlash is just the latest setback Amazon has faced, due to its dealings with employees.
The “loudest” opinion comes not just from the person posting it, but the people supporting and promoting that opinion. That why Reddit feels like it flips its opinion every three days it only takes a swing of (in this case) 7% of the voters changing their mind to suddenly make every thread feel like the side that hates your take is now the one that represents the cult opinion. When people are so heavily conditioned to change their opinions to match what gets upvoted (I say thing and it gets upvotes, that gives me dopamine, therefore it a good opinion) it very easy for those opinions to flip flop wildly.
